Black Girls Vs. the World, which ran between 2016-2017, was a series that focused on the real life applications of misogynoir. The purpose of this series was to depict these experiences through photoshoots, as well as explore the ways they've influenced how we view ourselves and other Black femmes through our intimate workshops.
One of the topics within this project called, Black girls vs. The Media focused on how Black femmes were and currently are perceived in the media, and how those images influence how we understand ourselves and other Black femme.
Another topic within this project, called Black Girls vs. Black girls explored the complex relationship that Black femmes have with one another. Moreover, how we define our Black femme experience for ourselves versus, the ways we've been taught to define it.
The final topic within this project was called: Black girls vs. Sexuality which focused on the ways that the Black female body has been and still is objectified and how that has influenced our understanding of sex and sexuality for ourselves and other Black femmes. We also focused on sexual health and the power we have as femmes knowing and defining our bodies for ourselves.
